Because of a particular situation that is happening in the church at the  moment i.e. the process of selection of a new Youth Pastor, there can be the possibility of frustration for some.  I imagine the youth themselves might feel a little frustrated, but they do not have it on their own.  I for one do at times, and I know there are many others also.  Frustration that we’re back in this position again so quickly after last time, frustration that some youth have chosen to go to another church because we do not      currently have a serving youth pastor, and I feel frustration that  I have felt frustrated!!

Yesterday, I was talking to a friend who is into counselling, life coaching and other similar occupations, and she happened to make a comment which reminded me again, not only who I am but most especially, whose I am i.e. to whom do I belong and by extension as I was thinking on  behalf of us all, to whom we all belong as followers of Jesus.

She said to me, ‘trust in the process’; in other words, you’ve asked God to lead you into making the right decision, so trust in Him to lead the way.  When you do that, worry falls away, apprehension lessens greatly and faith rises higher.

Surprise, surprise, the Bible has something to say about that, most notably in Proverbs.  It’s a well-known couple of verses so no surprises there, but sometimes we just need reminding.  It says;

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge Him,

and He will make your paths straight.

(Prov 3:5-6)

Trust in the Lord, lean not on your own understanding, acknowledge Him and He’ll straighten your paths.  All this is true.  Many of us with age and experience in particular can confirm this, but sometimes we need reminding of it.
